Snow shuts Atlantic Canada down

Provinces in Eastern Canada are buried under a thick blanket of snow and many cities are having trouble running business as usual.

The ultimate Canadian winter day has left conditions very unsafe for residents.

Over 1,000 homes have been left without power in New Brunswick and RCMP in Nova Scotia are asking people to stay off the roads.

Many roads in Halifax have been cleared but buses are not yet running, according to the mayor.
