The RCMP needs your help naming its new batch of future police dogs.

Children under the age of 14 can submit name suggestions for the 13 German Shephard puppies born throughout the year.

Children can participate online or mail their puppy name suggestions along with their own personal information to the following address.

Name the Puppy 2017 Contest
RCMP Police Dog Service Training Centre
P.O. Box 6120
Iniisfail, AB T4G 1S8

There are a few rules for the naming of the dogs, however, which include:

The winning names will be original and imaginative and will serve the puppies well during their careers as police dogs.

One winner will be drawn from each province and territories, and non-winning puppy names will be considered for other puppies born during the year.

The 13 children whose puppy names are selected will each receive a laminated 8×10-inch photo of the puppy they named, a plush dog called Justice and an official RCMP baseball cap.

Winners of the contest will be announced on May 11th, 2017.
