Canada continues to hunt for 21-year-old Abderrahmane (Adam) Bettahar, who’s wanted nationwide for murder.

In the meantime, the family of his alleged victim, 22-year-old Nadia ElDib, is attempting to cope with the loss of the young woman.

To help them cope with the tragedy, a family friend has set up a GoFundMe page that has already raised over $26,000 in a single day.

Not only will the money raised help with funeral costs, but it’ll also allow the family to take some time off to deal with the sudden loss.

“I know Nadia’s family and I know how much they love and cherish their daughters,” wrote Mayssoun Hniedi, who created the GoFundMe.

“Actually, they spread love and a helping hand to all those around them. If they hear of someone in need, they would be the first to jump to lend a helping hand.”

Nadia’s father, Sami ElDib, has now been made the beneficiary of the campaign and will receive all the funds raised.

ElDib’s accused killer, Bettahar, remains on the run after a nationwide warrant for his arrest was issued on Tuesday.
