Just for Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon has been charged with sex crimes.

He faces one count of rape and one count of indecent assault. The prosecutor's office in Quebec announced the charges today.

The charges are in relation to an incident that allegedly took place back in 1979. The prosecution service says that 13 other criminal complaints filed against Rozon will not result in charges. The women have been told why no charges were laid in those cases.

Rozon stepped down as president of the company last year, and faces a $10 million class action lawsuit that says he abused at least 20 women in the time period between 1982 and 2016.
