(UPDATE: March 26 @ 1:37 pm): Horses walked along a fence Tuesday as RCMP vehicles drove onto a rural property in southern Saskatchewan where Mounties say four members of a family were found dead.
Mounties said the deaths of the two parents and their two adult children were considered suspicious and officers with major crimes were investigating.
Some neighbours in the quiet village of Neudorf, about 130 kilometres east of Regina, said they were shocked and devastated by the news.
They said the parents had many family connections to the area and moved onto the property about a decade ago. Other animals and farm buildings could be seen on the section of land.
Police said next of kin were notified, but no names were released.
Autopsies were to take place this week.

Black unmarked RCMP vehicles could be seen blocking roads leading to a Saskatchewan farm property as officers continued to investigate the suspicious deaths of four people.
Mounties were called for a wellness check at the property Sunday night, when officers made the grim discovery.
Police said they didn't believe there was a risk to public safety. "If this changes, Saskatchewan RCMP will notify the public immediately," RCMP said in a release.
Mounties did not provide more information, including whether they were looking for a suspect.
Word of the deaths spread quickly in the area. People in the community of about 200 people, where many businesses close over the lunch hour, said they all know their neighbours well.
"It's really quiet. Nothing really happens here," said Mike Ryttr, who lives near Neudorf.
"It's a big event when we see a cop car drive through."
(UPDATE: March 26 @ 12:10 pm): Black unmarked RCMP vehicles could be seen Tuesday blocking roads leading to a Saskatchewan farm property as officers continued to investigate the suspicious deaths of four people.
Several animals, including horses, as well as farm buildings were spotted on the large property in a quiet, rural area northeast of the village of Neudorf.
Mounties have said investigators were called for a wellness check Sunday night at the property, about 130 kilometres east of Regina, when officers made the grim discovery.
They said the four deceased were all adults and the deaths are considered suspicious.
A resident of Neudorf, a community of about 200 people, said locals are shocked.
"It's really quiet. Nothing really happens here," said Mike Ryttr.
"It's a big event when we see a cop car drive through."
An RCMP spokesperson did not provide an immediate update on Tuesday.
Following an initial investigation, police said there was no imminent risk to public safety.
"Should this change and a public safety risk is identified, Saskatchewan RCMP will notify the public immediately," the release said Monday.
The provincial coroner’s office is helping with the investigation.
(Original story: March 26: 5:10 am): Details remain scarce this morning as the Saskatchewan RCMP say their Major Crimes Unit is investigating the deaths of four people in the southeastern community of Neudorf.
Investigators say they got the call for a wellness check Sunday night at a home, some 136 kilometres east of Regina, officers made the grim discovery.
They say the four deceased were all adults and the deaths are considered suspicious.

Following an initial investigation, police suggested that there was no imminent risk to public safety.
However, they add that if there is any change in safety risk, the public will be notified immediately.
The provincial coroner’s office is also helping with the probe.
