The Calgary Zoo’s newest king penguin chick is being parented by Arthur and Nero have been sharing the task of incubating, feeding and protecting the new chick, which hatched two weeks ago.

According to Malu Celli, a curator at the zoo, the two penguins are close and are taking their new responsibility seriously. The couple helped incubate the egg for almost two months.

The zoo had two other king penguin chicks this summer. One was born over the August long weekend, and another was born on July 29.

Since Penguin mom Diana is already fostering a chick for another couple, they gave her egg to the two penguin dads.

Congrats Arthur and Nero!
