Sex offender wanted Canada-wide after not returning to Vancouver halfway house

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a sex offender who failed to return to his Vancouver halfway house on Wednesday night.

Richard Darren Rondeau, 33, has been assessed by Corrections Canada as a high-risk to reoffend.

He’s currently serving a five year and 10 month sentence after being convicted of a number offences related to sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at a Winnipeg party in 2011.

Those offences include uttering threats causing death or bodily harm, overcome resistance by choke and assault and forcible confinement.

Rondeau is described as 5’8”, 165 lbs with blue eyes and very short brown hair.

Anyone who sees Rondeau, or has information on his whereabouts, is asked to immediately call 911.
