US President Donald Trump took multiple shots at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Twitter today, less than 24-hours ahead of his first official visit to Canada.
Please tell Prime Minister Trudeau and President Macron that they are charging the U.S. massive tariffs and create non-monetary barriers. The EU trade surplus with the U.S. is $151 Billion, and Canada keeps our farmers and others out. Look forward to seeing them tomorrow.

An hour later, Trump fired off a second Tweet where he called Trudeau “indignant.”
Prime Minister Trudeau is being so indignant, bringing up the relationship that the U.S. and Canada had over the many years and all sorts of other things...but he doesn’t bring up the fact that they charge us up to 300% on dairy — hurting our Farmers, killing our Agriculture!

The relationship between Trump and Canada has become rocky over the past week, with heavy steel and aluminum tariffs being imposed by both governments.
In response to slow moving NAFTA talks, the U.S. announced it was ending an exemption on steel and aluminum tariffs that initially had been granted to Canada, Mexico and the EU.
Calling the US tariffs "unacceptable", Canada countered by announcing it would slap an estimated $16.6 billion in duties on some steel and aluminum products and other goods from the U.S., including maple syrup, beer kegs, whisky and toilet paper.
American tariffs on Canadian aluminum & steel are unacceptable. As we have said, we will always stand up for our workers, and today we’re announcing retaliatory measures to this attack on our industry.

Protesters have already been marching through the streets of Charlevoix, Quebec, where Trudeau and Trump will be joined by leaders of some of the world’s most powerful countries at the G7 Summit.
