Two BC teens, whom police are pursuing across Canada, have been charged in relation to the death of a man whose body was discovered in northern BC last week.
Dease Lake RCMP found Leonard Dyck, from Vancouver, at a highway pullout on Hwy 37 about two kilometres south of a torched vehicle — believed to have been driven by suspects Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky — on Friday.
"We are truly heart broken by the sudden and tragic loss of Len. He was a loving husband and father. His death has created unthinkable grief and we are struggling to understand what has happened," the Dyck family said in a statement to RCMP.
"While we understand there will be interest in knowing more about him and the impact he had during his life, we are asking for the public and the media to please respect our privacy during this difficult time."
Both 19-year-old McLeod and 18-year-old Schmegelsky have been charged with second-degree murder in relation to Dyck's death, RCMP said. Nation-wide warrants have been issued for the two BC men and law enforcement agencies have been in contact with each other to locate them.

McLeod and Schmegelsky have been on the move in the last week and were reportedly seen in Meadow Lake, Sask., on Sunday. Manitoba RCMP confirmed that they discovered the vehicle the teens were fleeing in — a Toyota RAV4 — torched in the Gillam area in northern Manitoba on Monday.
The two BC men are also suspects in the double homicide of 23-year-old Australian, Lucas Fowler, and 24-year-old Chynna Deese who were found dead on July 15.
BC RCMP have released a photo of Leonard Dyck and asking for anyone who may have spoken to him during his travels in northern BC — or if anyone has information regarding the deaths of Fowler and Deese — to contact BC RCMP Major Crimes at 1-877-543-4822 or 778-290-5291.
"We continue to ask the public to remain vigilant for Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky, and consider them to be armed and dangerous. The two may being using a different vehicle, on foot or even travelling separately. If they are spotted, do not approach, call 9-1-1 or your local police immediately," RCMP said in a release.
In an interview on Wednesday, Schmegelsky's father said he suspects his son is on a "suicide mission."
