Police in Montreal have launched an investigation, after a video depicting a woman deliberately hanging onto the bumper of a city bus and being dragged down the street, was posted to social media.

The video was posted yesterday with the caption, “When you miss your bus," and has already garnered nearly 73,000 views on Instagram.

According to a spokesperson for the Montreal police, a team of collision specialists began investigating the incident early Sunday morning.

While the authenticity of the footage has yet to be confirmed, officers say the woman’s stunt could be considered as “car surfing.”

She could potentially face a fine of $1,500 and 12 demerit points under the Highway Safety Code.
