Western Canadian, Jaxon Joseph, has been confirmed dead in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash that happened on Friday, resulting in the death of 14 passengers.

Son of former NHLer, Chris Joseph, Jaxon's uncle, Mike Joseph, told Sportsnet that Jaxon's dad, Chris, and his wife, Andrea were originally told their son was alive and in a hospital in Saskatoon on Friday night.
They found out early this morning that their son had passed away.
First responders were having difficulty identifying the players as many of them had died their hair blond as a team bonding initiative.
"To wake up and find out he didn't make it is devastating," said Mike to SportsNet.
According to Mike, Chris and Andrea started driving from Edmonton to Nipawin as soon as they heard about the crash on Friday.
While he lived in Edmonton, Jaxon was known for spending time in the Okanagan, including Osoyoos Lake.
He played for the Surrey Eagles from 2015 to 2016.

A former teammate of Jaxon, Gage Mackie tweeted:
"Jaxon was an amazing teammate,linemate and brother to me. He had such a bright and genuine personality. My prayers go out to the Joseph family and all of the families with loved ones involved in the crash. I'm blessed to have known you JJ! Rest In Peace, my friend."

Jaxon's dad, Chris, played for several NHL teams including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes and Atlanta Thrashers.
