It was a cold, dark and scary awakening for Tiffani Adams.

After falling asleep on a flight to Toronto earlier this month, she was somehow missed by crew members as the plane emptied out.

As a result, Adams woke up all alone inside a “cold dark” aircraft that was locked up and parked for the night.

She attempted to call a friend to tell them what was happening, but her phone died and she was unable to charge it because the plane’s power was off.

Adams was “full on panicking” by the time she found walkie talkies in the cockpit, but those didn’t work either.

After attempting to get someone’s attention by shining SOS signals out the window with a flashlight, she managed to unbolt a cabin door.

It was too far to jump out of the door and onto the tarmac, so she leaned out of the plane and managed to get the attention of a ground crew.

Air Canada apologized to Adams and offered her a limo and hotel to make up for the incident, but Adams declined the offer.

The airline now says it’s looking into how crew members could have exited the plane without noticing the sleeping passenger.

Adams says she hasn’t been able to get much sleep since the incident due to recurring night terrors and waking up afraid that she’s locked up alone in the dark.
