Things are heating up in the Okanagan and summer is just around the corner. Whether you are new to the area, or you’ve lived here your entire life, the Okanagan has so many spectacular summer events and activities that you must experience.

It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced hiker that conquers the toughest climbs in the region each weekend, or if you spend your summer sipping wine on a patio, there are a number of boxes to tick off of your summer goal list here in the Okanagan.

Predator Ridge is celebrating their 25th anniversary in the Okanagan with themed, public events throughout the summer. As one of the top resort communities in Canada, it makes sense that Predator Ridge knows a thing or two about Okanagan summers and the essential experiences that all residents and visitors should indulge in.

✓ Sip & Snack on a Patio

Who doesn’t love patio season? Imagine warm summer evenings, sitting on the patio with friends and enjoying a few drinks and appetizers; It’s a staple of like in the Okanagan. There are many great patios to spend a beautiful summer evening on in the Okanagan, including the new patio at Range Lounge & Grill at Predator Ridge.

Be sure to stop in at the restaurants at Predator Ridge during the month of May to enjoy the food & wine specials of Culinary Month!

✓ Bend & Breathe at a Yoga Class

There is no shortage of great yoga instructors in the Okanagan, and there’s also no shortage of gorgeous venues to practice at. Some of those venues include mountainsides, beaches, and stand-up paddle boards (Yes, you can nail a Warrior pose on a SUP board - we believe in you!). Whether you consider yourself to be flexible or not, yoga has become a mainstay of the Okanagan life and everyone should give it a try at least once - even NHL pros are doing it!

One yoga venue that you may not have considered is the outdoor yoga platform, nestled in nature’s sweet spot, at Predator Ridge. July is Yoga Month at Predator Ridge and they will be hosting a Yoga Expo at the outdoor yoga platform from July 9th to 11th. If you feel a need for speed, you can take part in the 5km Family Fun Run/Walk on July 16th.

✓ Take a Hike!

Do you like chasing waterfalls? What about enjoying breathtaking views of the city? Life in the Valley means that there are numerous mountains to climb and trails to roam, so you can enjoy a solid workout and some real, natural eye candy. A few hikes that you may want to try out are Crawford Falls, Blue Grouse Mountain, Knox Mountain, and the 25km+ of walking and hiking trails around Predator Ridge.

✓ Experience Pet-Owner Camaraderie

Maybe it’s the abundance of outdoor activities or the laid-back lifestyle, but the Okanagan is home to a LOT of pet owners. In the summer months, it’s not unusual for businesses to leave water dishes on the sidewalk for dogs and any streetside patio is bound to have at least one furry friend patiently waiting on the other side of the rail. The best part of taking a dog for a walk is the instant camaraderie with fellow pet owners. Borrow a friend’s dog for the afternoon just to experience it!

Dog owners at Predator Ridge jokingly call it PETador Ridge because it’s so dog-friendly - they even have dog-friendly tee times every Sunday after 4 p.m.! August is pet month at the resort community, so stay tuned for details on the 1st annual Petador Classic Golf Tournament.

✓ Take a Swing on the Golf Course

You haven’t truly lived in the Okanagan until you've golfed a game at one of the many award-winning golf courses in the area. Long, hot summers, beautiful scenery, and a bit of competitive fun? There’s a reason why golf is high up on the Okanagan goal list.

Grab your clubs and take a swing out on some perfectly groomed fairways, including those at the two premier golf courses at Predator Ridge. The month of June will be Golf Month at Predator Ridge, featuring Canadian Golf Hall of Fame members and some fantastic special golf events.

✓ Shop Local at the Farmer’s Market

Supporting local business means supporting the Okanagan economy, and shopping at the Kelowna or Vernon Farmers’ Markets does just that. Not only do our local farmers’ markets offer some of the best, freshest produce in the country,  they also offer fun, entertainment, and of course, mini-doughnuts!

Okanagan summers offer so many wonderful experiences that both residents and visitors alike should relish in. Join Predator Ridge for one of their many summer events and help celebrate #PredTurns25.
