The Okanagan is very well-known for being a four-season outdoor playground with a vast amount of recreational activities consistently drawing people to the region whether it's for a vacation or to make it a home.

But it's also a place where small, locally-owned businesses choose to set up shop and the thing is, our local communities offer so much more than you know.

Seven Okanagan Valley Chambers of Commerce from Osoyoos to Armstrong joined together with OkanaganWeGotThis to release a video series that shows exactly what is in your backyard and neighbouring communities that you should be taking advantage of.

The “Explore Next Door” project spotlights Okanagan communities such as Penticton, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Vernon and more, once a week for seven weeks.

Each video illustrates local highlights in each city and the distinct advantages of supporting local neighbouring communities from a tourist and local resident point of view, just in time for the height of tourism.

Explore ‘next door’ hidden gems, recreational activities, wineries, restaurants, artisans and more in other communities in this fun video series encouraging all of us to show local some love.

Our picturesque region is home to thousands of unique locally owned and operated businesses that are creating products and services you can access right here at home.

Why go anywhere but here when everything you need is right next door or in your backyard?

The opportunity to purchase creative, high-quality products that are crafted with love and services that are provided with a dedication to each customer's experience makes us extremely lucky.

The best part is that you are supporting families, friends and neighbours. You’re also helping passionate business owners realize their potential and achieve their goals.

Yes, you can hop online and purchase something from the other side of the world, but all that does is put more money in distant businesses' pockets when it can go back to the community.

When you “Explore Next Door”, you contribute to the local economy’s health by keeping the dollars local - one of the most impactful things you can do.

Stay tuned for the next six videos that will be released on OkanaganWeGotThis over the course of the summer and celebrate our local communities and businesses with us.
