Calling all neuroscience enthusiasts!
Are you fascinated by the mysterious wonders of the brain and looking to learn more about this complex and powerful organ?
In honor of Brain Awareness Week, the Neuroplasticity, Imagery and Motor Behaviour Laboratory, in conjunction with the Department of Psychology at The University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO), is hosting an event to spread enthusiasm and support for brain science.
As one of the top research-based universities in the country, UBCO is excited to share brain-related research that is ongoing in their laboratories.
Brain Awareness Week is a global campaign, whereby different hosts such as universities, hospitals, research facilities and schools, share captivating insights into the brain through seminars and creative activities.
On March 17 from 1 to 4 pm, individuals of all ages can visit various labs and classrooms at UBCO where they’ll be taken on a tour and shown various research findings.
Attendees will be given a map highlighting the laboratory locations in which they can drop-in at any time they'd like.
Throughout the afternoon, you can expect to gain insight into an array of neuroscience research such as stroke recovery, neural control of posture, chronic disease management, eye tracking studies and behavioral testing.
There will also be a demo of the Muse headband, a brain-sensing headband, which monitors brain electrical activity.
And what's an event without snacks? Alongside all of the incredible lab research and presentations, there will be a “Snack Room” where food and drinks will be provided.
