Golf for Julia is back for the sixth year!
Julia developed a blood clot in her spine at 17 months old, which caused a spinal cord injury that left her unable to walk.
After having the blood clot removed she was left with the massive job of learning how to walk again.
While she has made progress towards being able to walk again, her equipment and therapy costs are not covered by any government funding, presenting another obstacle for her and her family to overcome.
So how can you help? By joining the event for lots of fun, food and drinks on the course, followed by a delicious meal and silent auction, to raise money for Julia’s treatment costs.
The charitable event takes place on August 28th at Sunset Ranch Golf Club and all of the funds raised will go towards the large costs required for Julia’s therapies and essential equipment.
While the golf tickets are officially sold out, you can still partake in the fun and support Julia by joining them for dinner and buying a 50/50 ticket, purchasing a raffle ticket, donating an item to the silent auction or becoming a sponsor.
Join for dinner
Tickets for the dinner are $35 and can be purchased here. A 50/ 50 raffle will also be happening during the dinner, and it’s a great chance to support the cause and potentially win some extra cash.
The dinner includes a Sunset Salad as the first course, fitted with local vegetables, sun-dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and champagne cheddar cheese with house-made balsamic vinaigrette.
Main course options include Braised Short Rib with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Harvest Chicken with Roasted Potatoes or Prawn or Tofu Pad Thai with dessert options of Salted Caramel Cheesecake or Flourless Chocolate Torte.
Buy a raffle ticket
Enter to win some amazing prizes from WestJet, Sparkling Hill Resort and Boston Pizza by buying a raffle ticket.
You can get one ticket for $20 or three for $50.
The three epic prizes include a $150 gift card to Boston Pizza as the third prize, a two-night stay package from the amazing Sparkling Hill Resort worth $500 as the second prize, and an incredible $1000 gift card for WestJet as the first prize!
The draw will take place Sunday, August 28th at 9:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased at Hole 4 at the tournament, by emailing golfforjulia@gmail.com or by sending them a message on Facebook.
Silent auction
You can also support the event by buying an item from the silent auction or donating an item to be sold in the silent auction.
Some of the silent auction items include golf passes for various Okanagan golf courses like The Harvest, Vernon Golf & Country, Osoyoos Golf Club and more.
There will also be Blue Jays memorabilia, tools, restaurant gift cards and gift baskets up for grabs.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available. Opportunities left include two spots for Hole Sponsor for $200, with the fee being waived for sponsors who are able to provide food or beverages, Raffle 3rd Prize Sponsor for $150 which will cover the cost of the third prize, and Raffle 2nd Prize Sponsor for $500 which will cover the cost of the second prize.
