Every adventure requires a first step, and in this case, that step is falling down a rabbit hole.

Confused? So was Alice.

Follow along as we introduce you to a magical event you don’t want to miss out on! For its second annual Garden Party, Floral presented by Valley First is bringing Wonderland to the Okanagan. Say goodbye to Dinah and get ready for a fun-filled day of wine tasting, games, live entertainment and a giant donut wall. That’s right - a donut wall.

Amplify your tasting experience at the Better Earth Gardens & Tropicals Greenhouse on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., where you will be surrounded by beautiful flowers, food pairings from Nesters Market and over 20 B.C. wineries.

But the fun doesn’t end there. If you are like Alice, then you are curiouser and curiouser to try something new! There will be life-sized board games for you to enjoy, including Connect 4, Jenga, Yardzee and a giant crib board with giant cards to match.

But what’s a party without a queen? The Floral Garden Party just so happens to land on Mother's Day weekend, so it’s a great event to enjoy with the special women in your life!

Along with wine sipping and game-playing, guests will be able to purchase flowers, plants and hanging baskets. Partial proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Mamas for Mamas.

“The Better Earth Gardens & Tropicals team is a mother and daughter, and they really wanted to help support Mamas for Mamas in some capacity,” said Kate Deglow, Marketing & PR Manager, The Okanagan Wine Festivals Society.

Mamas for Mamas is a local non-profit organization that supports mothers in crisis and provides ongoing support to low-income mothers and their children. Their mission is to change the landscape of poverty through innovative approaches to financial barriers faced by struggling families in hopes that no mama or child is left behind.

“We love to give back wherever we can and the Mamas for Mamas team is doing such a great thing for our community so we wanted to do something to help them out, especially with it being Mother’s Day weekend. With a fearless team of females operating this event, it’s bound to be a huge success and an afternoon party you don’t want to miss,” added Deglow.

“We are very excited to partner with the Okanagan Wine Festivals team,” said Candace Chisholm, Chief Community Officer, Mamas for Mamas. “They are all about showcasing the beautiful region we live in, and we are all about helping the people that live here. We are thrilled to be a part of Floral, as it highlights all things pretty: wine, flowers, and our mamas!”

In true wonderland fashion, floppy hats, sundresses and oversized sunglasses are encouraged! And, as we said before, there will be a donut wall for you to capture the perfect Instagram shot.

Guests will be offered a “Safe Ride Home” taxi ride courtesy of RE/MAX Kelowna Safe Ride Home. Attendees will receive a safe ride up to $75 back to their home or hotel room.

If you want to spend the day sipping your way through the Okanagan, then don’t miss out on this wonderful event! To learn more about Floral or to purchase a ticket head to the Okanagan Wine Festivals events page.
