The holiday season is upon us and it’s important to remember others and give back to our communities. By giving to charities you’re supporting causes that are dedicated to helping those in need and every penny, or second, makes all the difference.

Companies also tend to give back and donate to charities during the holidays — the Pay It Forward Campaign at Kelowna Hyundai, a division of Kot Auto Group, is back for its second year this holiday season.

Effects of companies giving back

When a company supports a cause, there is a strong response from the employees. Typically, they live within the communities that are receiving support and they will hear or see the effects of the support first hand. This gives them a new sense of respect for the company that they work for.

The Pay It Forward Campaign strives to give back to multiple communities while giving each employee control over where the support goes. Each employee from all four Kot Auto Group dealerships will be given $500 to donate to a charity of their choice.

Last year, John and Trina Kot, owners of Kelowna Hyundai, Buy Direct Truck Centre, Maple Ridge Hyundai and Penticton Nissan began the Pay It Forward Campaign and it was a huge success - giving back over $30,000!

“The impact on the staff was incredibly positive and we want to keep that going forward,” said John Kot. “We will be donating to all the causes throughout December.”

When employees respect the company they work for, they show it in their productivity and commitment. This campaign builds up the community while giving the employees control to direct help to those in need.

Company Culture

Now, with upwards of 80 employees, this year’s Pay It Forward Campaign will give back over $40,000!

Companies want to keep their employees and the best way to do that is by making them happy. By developing a company culture that employees respect and admire, they will want to stay and their morale will be unmatched.

The company culture will become one of giving back to the communities that support it. You can’t go wrong.

Kot Auto Group also supports other causes each year such as the OK College Trades Complex and the St. Joseph Project.

During the summer of 2018, Kelowna Hyundai donated $20,000 to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation. This put the company at $120,000 donated to the KGH heart and surgical centre.

No matter how much money or time you give to charity this holiday season, you can be confident that it will be appreciated by all who receive it. How will you give back this year?
