Do you want your child to reach their full potential?

Then give them an opportunity to build a solid foundation of skills in math and reading with the help of the Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Kelowna.

With a strong academic base that includes critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

When you decide to enroll your child with Kumon, you're breaking ground on an academically enriching relationship between you, your child and Kumon's instructors, who have 60 years' worth of success stories helping generations of people reach their full potential.

Families like Jessica Moore, who shares her story of being a former student who has enrolled her son Kaleb in the program.

"I have had a great experience with Kumon as a student, and now as a parent. My son Kaleb has gone from a non-reader to a reader since joining a year ago. He has gained confidence in Math, and overall, he is doing well academically. Kaleb is proud of himself as a learner and his progress to date.

I enrolled him as soon as I could because of my own success in the program.

Kumon changed my life. In Grade 6, I was really struggling in Math. I had no confidence in myself and was not meeting the curriculum expectations. Within two years of joining Kumon, I was no longer struggling, and instead of working above grade level. Kumon helped me build lifelong skills, and this has helped me find success in my career as a teacher.

Kumon works because it meets each student where they are at, and then moves them past where they need to be.

I would highly recommend this program to anyone," said Jessica Moore.

About the Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Kelowna

The centre was introduced to Kelowna in 1992 by a couple from Armstrong, BC.

Through Kumon's shared values, the couple guided countless students in the Okanagan until the owners/instructors decided to pass their centre down to their daughter, Susan. Under Susan's tutelage, students were guided to reach their potential while improving their math and reading skills.

Susan became a natural at seeing the potential of others and developing a way for them to uncover it. Something she would do with Kumon students and her heir apparent, Alisha Ahuja, who at the time was working with Susan as an assistant while studying to become a pharmacist.

Shortly after Alisha graduated, Susan approached Alisha about taking over her family business. Knowing that she could confidently pass along the centre to someone who would continue helping students in the Okanagan reach their potential and excel in math and reading, Susan was able to let the assistant become the instructor.

About the Instructor

The current owner/instructor, Alisha Ahuja began working at Kumon in 2016 as an assistant while studying towards a career in pharmacy.

"I was working as a pharmacy assistant at the same time and was planning on being a pharmacist but as it turned out, I didn't enjoy the pharmacy assistant job after a year and began focusing my work at Kumon while completing my Bachelors of Science at UBCO," said Alisha.

When Alisha graduated UBCO in 2019, she was approached by Susan to see if she was interested in the business of helping children reach their potential through the Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Kelowna.

As you already know, the choice was simple.

Alisha has been the owner since March 2019, serving as a mentor who guides your children through their math and reading work while also providing direction, support and encouragement.

If you wish to see how Alisha and Kumon can accelerate and assist your child while equipping them with a lifelong academic advantage, schedule an orientation with Alisha and the team at Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Kelowna.

Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Kelowna provides virtual and in-person classes designed with an emphasis on individualized learning to help your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant.
