Attention all wine-o's, this is some news you’ll want to hear. The Central Okanagan is about to get yet another winery!
Yep, you read that right, more wine! Local development, McKinley Beach, will soon be home to the newest member of the Okanagan’s fruitful wine industry.
As if the luxury community could get any better, the development team behind it confirmed that 42 acres of land has been purchased by a local vintner.
“McKinley Beach is thrilled to announce this local vintner who will bring a high level of business expertise and vision to this winery and vineyard,” stated Andrew Gaucher of G Group Land Development.
According to Gaucher, the vision of a winery-vineyard has been part of the McKinley Beach vision for over a decade.
Plans for the winery are to include a restaurant and tasting room nestled within the forest and will highlight the never-ending lake views the area is known for.
While a name is yet to be finalized, construction on phase one has already begun, with site services, utilities and soil prep underway.
Spring of 2019 will see the first varietals planted, including pinot noir, riesling and merlot grapes, which means the days of sipping on delicious vino, lakeside, are not too far out.
For those of you interested in more than the wine, you’ll be excited to know that the McKinley Beach Development team have also announced the release of the Vineyard Lots for spring 2019.
The exclusive lots will truly encompass the Okanagan lifestyle, offering up picturesque lake and vineyard views. The Vineyard Lots will be released alongside plans for future townhomes and single-family homes that will complement the remaining Hillside lots in the new Hilltown community.
“We aim to curate an experience of ‘Okanagan in a day’ within the McKinley Beach community,” said Gaucher. “With a kilometre of beachfront, a marina, and now a vineyard-winery, this creates an unparalleled community for all McKinley Beach residents, and visitors alike.”
