OAK + CRU has a new summer fresh menu, and it looks almost too good to eat. Keyword: almost.

Executive Chef Daniel Craig has launched a full set of new menu items for foodies to try. A few items you can expect to see are avocado toast (que the Instagram post), fire oven pizza, baked brie and roasted scallops, all made with fresh local ingredients from the Okanagan.

“The whole menu really is all new. New for the cooks and new for the city, specifically utilizing the wood oven to full potential. There will be more than just pizzas coming out of there. We’ve got wood fire prawns and chicken sautéed that will be wood fired as well,” said Chef Daniel Craig.

Chef Daniel joined the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort from the Ritz Carlton Toronto in January 2018. His passion for cooking began at the early age of 12 and since then he has mastered the art of creating drool-worthy cuisine.

“I am new here, so it’s amazing to see how much food actually grows locally,” added Chef. “This summer menu is definitely focused on what’s available in the Okanagan.”

OAK + CRU’s patio, which seats 130 guests, plus an additional private patio area for up to 20 guests is located on the waterfront in the heart of downtown Kelowna. With panoramic views of the spectacular Okanagan Lake, it’s the perfect place to enjoy Kelowna sunshine, a light bite and a cocktail or two.

If you’re curious to try Chef Daniel’s creations this summer, here are three must-try items worth tasting!

Roasted Sea Scallops

One of Chefs signature dishes he brought to the menu is the Roasted Sea Scallops. This item is full of rich Okanagan ingredients, such as cauliflower puree, capers, raisins and grapefruit. The cocktail, One For The Ladies, complements all the flavours perfectly with its rhubarb infused Okanagan Spirits vodka, O+C lemon basil syrup and bittered sling shanghai rhubarb bitters.

Crispy Yellowfin Tuna

Seafood fans will also love this tasty tuna dish, complete with rice crust, quinoa, kohlrabi and flavourful black garlic aioli. This dish is great to share and is paired best with a glass of the Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards Lookout Riesling.

Carnivore FireDeck Pizza

The name says it all - this fire oven roasted pizza is covered in smoked chorizo, pepperoni, spicy calabrese, san marzano tomatoes, red onions, fior di latte and topped with fresh basil. Wash it all down with a glass of Tree Brewing Rooftop Honey Pilsner, brewed exclusively for OAK + CRU.

Food goes best with great drinks, amazing views and even better company. So the next time you and your friends are feeling hungry, head over to OAK + CRU and eat your way through the Okanagan!

OAK + CRU Social Kitchen and Wine Bar draws inspiration from the bounty of the Okanagan Valley, which includes over 250 wineries (30 locally) and an abundance of local food producers and artisans. Located on the Lake Okanagan waterfront and in the heart of downtown Kelowna, guests can enjoy the energy and passion of a well-trained team while they venture on a culinary journey with spectacular views of the lake.
