For local commercial REALTOR® and business broker Brent Marshall of Business Finders Canada, philanthropy is just part of the day-to-day. Having orchestrated the donation of nearly $5 million dollars to charities in the last 15 years, it’s no surprise that he jumped at the opportunity to be the platinum sponsor of the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise Season of Giving Calendar.

Similar to the beloved holiday advent calendar, the Season of Giving calendar offers community members a daily chance to win one of 261 prizes by seeing what’s behind those little paper doors between Dec. 1 and Dec. 24. All you have to do to qualify for prize draws is buy a calendar for $20 from Save-On-Foods or the Kelowna General Hospital gift shop!

This kind of community-oriented fundraiser is right up Brent’s alley. He’s owned over 25 successful businesses and franchises, and he’s always been insistent that each one gives generously to charities that help those in need.

“I believe it’s socially responsible for every successful business to give back to their community in some way, and help support others who may not be having the same success or luck in their lives,” Brent says. “I have found the success of each of my companies is in large part due to our commitment to giving back—this attracts incredible people into our lives.”

Currently working as a commercial REALTOR® and business broker, he strives to do real estate differently, donating 50% of his net proceeds to charity.

Brent has been inspiring businesses and community members to give generously for many years. If you, too, feel inspired by Brent’s commitment to philanthropy, there’s no easier way to start giving than by purchasing a Season of Giving calendar and moving the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise closer to their fundraising goal of $120,000 for the the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation (KGHF), specifically targeting the Neonatal Intensive Care Ward, and the Child Advocacy Centre (CAC).

“CAC and KGHF are just two of many local charities I believe in supporting wherever I can,” Brent says. “I thought the Season of Giving calendar was the most brilliant idea because it gives people the ability to give a gift to someone during the holidays that in-turn, gives back to others in need.”

If you haven’t picked up a calendar for yourself or someone else yet, it’s not too late! Stop by Save-On-Foods or the Kelowna General Hospital gift shop today.
