First College’s Registered Massage Therapy program is perfect for anyone who’s looking to enter one of the most employable fields with the fastest-growing employment rates in Canada. 

The Kelowna-based institution is opening up registration for a two-year diploma program with 2,886 hours of instructional hours, including 550 hours of clinical experience.

Registered massage therapists in B.C. have numerous employment options that allow them to work independently in a private practice or with other allied healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment. 

You can choose your own hours, have an earning potential of over $110 an hour and utilize your knowledge and skills to treat a diverse patient population. 

With plenty of one-on-one instruction, small class sizes of approximately 20 students per class, and hands-on experience at their RMT-supervised student clinic which operates up to five days a week, you’ll gain all the experience necessary to find a job immediately upon graduation. 

First College offers yearly intakes in January and September and is currently accepting students for its two-year diploma program. They offer a yearly intake in January and September. Next year’s intake starts at its downtown Kelowna campus on Jan. 3, 2023. The registration deadline is Nov. 24, 2022, and there are only a few spots left, so if you’re interested, apply today

Once you’re accepted into the program, you’ll be required to take a two-day Introduction to Massage Therapy course in November, and attend classes Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm starting in January, although the time will vary from day to day.

The First College RMT program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training, accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation, and recognized by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia.

Other available courses starting in January are their Health Care Assistant (HCA) Program and Community Support Worker (CSW) Program.
