Today marks the start of the BC Hockey Championships 2023!

Nine phenomenal U15 Tier 2 hockey teams from all over BC are facing-off over the next few days at the Capital News Centre (CNC) to determine who will win the 2023 Championship banner.

The Kelowna Rockets won the Championship last year.  Hopefully they can do the same this year!

The U15 Tier 2 Kelowna Rockets is made up of 18 focused, committed and driven 13 and 14 years old boys from all over Kelowna.  Each of them have dedicated time and hard work to train over the season, improving both individually and together as a team.

Their coach, Bruce Kristinson, alongside the two assistant coaches Brendan Durant and Ralph Jarratt, have worked hard to ensure the Rockets are prepared and focused for the season.

Only one team can take the championship banner home and the competition this year is making for some really exciting hockey.  The semifinals and finals are set to take place on March 23.

And to make it even better, you can win big too!

Throughout the tournament, there will be 10 raffle baskets to be won including a lotto basket valued at $200, a spa basket valued at over $700 and a mountain bike basket valued over $800.

The silent auction has already begun and some of the incredible items up for grabs include signed hockey memorabilia from NHL stars including Jarome Iginla, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Kyrou, Cole Perfetti, Justin Schultz and Tyson Barrie.

Make sure you also grab your ticket for the 50/50 raffle that is well underway here! The ticket sales will end at 3pm on March 23.
