Who doesn’t love easy recipes? Well, a blender is the perfect tool for ease in the kitchen. There isn’t anything much easier than tossing a few ingredients in the blender and flicking the on switch – you can’t mess it up! These are 9 great recipes that all utilize the simplicity of the blender with delicious outcomes.

Almond Milk

Homemade almond milk is so much more delicious than store bought! The ratio of almonds to water is much higher, and therefore it has more of that nutty flavour, and more nutrition too. Oh She Glows has mastered the art of almond milk, and you can find her favourite recipe here!

Hummus

This killer recipe from Victoria chef Dallah El is plant-based and packed with protein! Hummus is great to spread on toast, or dip with veggies or crackers, and it will last in the fridge for at least a week. After soaking your chickpeas, blend them up with lemon tahini sauce in your blender. Make sure you follow Dallah’s tip for beautiful presentation!

Soup

Use a blender to make a velvety pureed soup, like this Butternut Squash Soup! Pro tip: add a pat of butter at the end of blending for an extra-luscious soup. Also, use the blender to prep your veggies: you can throw in your onions, carrots, celery, garlic, etc. to get a rough chop on them before sautéing.

Crepes

Crepes may sound like a fancy brunch item but they’re just 4 ingredients mixed in a blender: eggs, milk, flour, and melted butter! You can even make them the night before and fry them up in the morning. This recipe from Alton Brown is a classic.

Hollandaise

Delicious (and intimidating to make) hollandaise sauce can be made easily in a blender! Try this recipe, complete with step by step video. You can make all kinds of sauces in the blender, like the perfect vinaigrette, mayonnaise, or even vegan “cheez” sauce.

Muffins

Yep, you can throw together muffin batter in your blender! This recipe from Best of Bridge is the ultimate in no-fail recipe, and these light orange muffins taste like sunshine.

Nut Butter

Peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, seed butter… really any kind of butter you like can be done in your blender. (Even actual butter!). Just use your choice of nuts or seeds, and blend them up – it’s that easy. Of course, you can roast your nuts, and/or add in any flavourings you like (sea salt, cinnamon, and vanilla are all good choices). Try this recipe from Vitamix for a Mixed Nut Butter!

Keep it simple and #TreatYoSelf to some easy and delicious blender foods! Make the most of this uber-versatile tool in your kitchen.
