Congratulations are in order for Paulina Vega from Colombia, the 2014 crowned Miss Universe. The 63rd annual coronation took place on Sunday evening in Doral-Miami at the FIU arena.

The 22 year of native of Barranquilla, Colombia, Vega is the grand daughter of famous tenor, Gaston Vega. A student of the Business Administration program at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, this newly crowned queen has been modeling since the age of eight.

Landing the top five positions along side Miss Columbia were contestants from Jamaica, Ukraine, Netherlands, and the USA. The USA beauty queen, Nia Sanchez, was the runner up on Sunday's event.
