Concrete Slab Falls on Car, Killing Young Parents and Infant

A tragic incident has occurred in Washington State in which a young family was killed when a hunk of concrete fell from a highway overpass.

The incident occurred on Monday when the concrete slab fell from a highway overpass, crushing the vehicle underneath and killing a couple and their baby. The victims were both youth pastors and have been identified as Josh and Vanessa Ellis, and their 8-month-old son, Hudson. The victims were identified by a fellow pastor on Facebook.

The couple from Bonney Lake, Washington, were driving on Route 410 when crews were installing a sidewalk above the overpass. The chunk of concrete fell on their vehicle around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Police are investigating the accident along with the state Department of Transportation. A candlelight vigil will be held at the church the couple were pastors at in Bonney Lake, with a large crowd expected to attend.
