The British monarchy now has a new little princess.

William and Kate now have a baby girl, with May 2nd marking the birthday of the newest member of the royal family. The Duchess of Cambridge went by car to St. Mary’s Hospital in London at 6 a.m. local time on Saturday, with the Duke close by and ready to help. Kensington Palace reports a relatively short labour for Kate, saying that she safely delivered a daughter at 8:34 a.m. with William at her side.

The new little baby is 8 lb 3 oz, and apparently both Kate and her new daughter are doing well.

This new baby girl is now fourth in line for the British throne behind big brother Prince George, father Duke of Cambridge William, and grandfather Prince Charles. The royal baby’s name isn’t expected to be announced immediately, as Prince George’s wasn’t officially declared until a few days after his birth.

Kate's due date was officially announced for April 2015, meaning that people have been waiting outside the hospital for several days.
