Mass Shooting at Oregon Community College

UPDATE (12:10pm): The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the initial call about the shooting at Umpqua Community College came in to police at 10:38 a.m. Police from multiple jurisdictions responded to the 9-1-1 call. Students and faculty members are being bused to the Douglas County Fairgrounds to be picked up by family and friends.

An active shooter situation is taking place at Umpqua Community College (UCC) in Oregon and preliminary reports indicate 15 people are dead.

The college is currently on lockdown as police swarm the area. Reports indicate that there may be as many as 20 people injured. The campus is in a rural location about 180 kilometres south of Portland in Roseburg. There are conflicting reports as to whether or not the shooter has been detained or killed in the situation.
