French people and tourists in Paris are waking up to a new sense of horror and hurt on November 14th because of terrorist attacks that happened overnight.
Police in Paris have said more than 120 have been killed with several dozen more wounded.
According to local French media one of the attackers has been identified by a passport as a French born just outside of Paris. It is also being reported by local outlets that ISIS has taken responsibility for the attacks.
French President Francois Hollande took to social media saying terrorists will be defeated.

Premier of British Columbia Christy Clark said her thoughts are with those who have died.
“For centuries, France has been a beacon of light and example for the world, and remains one of our closest friends and allies. Tonight, all Canadians and British Columbians stand with them, both in grief for those who were killed, but also in resolve. Those who commit such acts of violence want to change us, and our shared values. They will fail.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke also about the attacks.
“I am shocked and saddened that so many people have been killed and injured in violent attacks in Paris. Canada stands with France.”
Trudeau recently arrived in Turkey to take part in his first international summit, which is the G20 Summit.
Paris Police have issued a state of emergency that is in effect until November 19th.
