Explosion at Sikh Temple in Germany

A powerful explosion interrupted a rehearsal for the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi Saturday in Germany.

According to witnesses, a masked assailant threw an explosive device into the Gurdwara Nanaksar Sikh Temple in Essen, Germany.

Children at the gurdwara were rehearsing for celebrations due to take place the next week for the Sikh festival of Vaiskhi.

Photos show the aftermath of the explosion, with glass piled on the floor and destruction throughout the building.

So far, several injuries have been reported. It is unknown who is behind the attack.
