The world’s first hoverboard has appeared on a crowd sourcing campaign website and if successful it could make travel so much easier.

The Hendo Hoverboard is something straight out a movie, but will cost you $10,000 to own before anyone else. Creator Greg Henderson uses what he calls Magnetic Field Architecture, which he trademarked and patented, to create the floating effect. Currently the prototype can give about 12 to 15 minutes of hover time and takes about two hours to charge, but the Hendo team is looking to improve this.

The board itself looks something like a skateboard as it has two foot pads on the top, a slim body and four hover engines on the underside. Thus far the Kickstarter campaign has raised $71,000 of its $250,000 goal and has until December 14th to be funded.  The engineers even have a hover box called the Whitebox, which can be sold to individuals so others can try to improve the technology.

While the board won’t have you flying up 10 stories to your apartment, it could be something of a sport at a hoverpark, if they are built in the future. For now though, the company is just looking to get the board backed and created and hopefully improve on the technology they have already created.
