It's better than nothing, but the owners of the 10,000 sq ft estate were likely hoping for a better outcome.

Situated on 14.5 acres in East Kelowna, the mansion went up for auction last night on Platinum Luxury Auctions.

Correction: This article originally listed the sale price as $2.998 million, which was incorrect.

According to Kirsten Fowler of the Jane Hoffman Group, the winning bid for the mansion was $3.278 million.

The property was even featured in the Wall Street Journal on September 14th, but apparently that didn't strum up enough interest to reach the $6.5 million mark.

With five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a three-car garage and game room that is to die for, it's surprising the home didn't garner enough attention to reach its asking price.

Needless to say, the buyer got a steal of a deal last night!
