Fans of the Star Wars series will have to wait longer than expected to watch the next installment in the saga.

Disney and Lucusfilm announced on Wednesday that Star Wars: Episode VIII will be released on December 15th 2017, not in the summer of 2017 as previously planned.

The film, which is written and directed by Rian Johnson, is currently in preproduction and will begin principal photography in London next month. Johnson’s previous work includes Looper and multiple episodes of Breaking Bad. Previous director J. J. Abrams will stay on as an executive producer.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released in December 2015 and went on to become the highest grossing domestic release of all time with $861.3 million and the third biggest global release ever with 1.886.7 billion.

The seventh installment in the franchise has five nominations in this year’s Oscars: Film Editing, Original Score, Visual Effects, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing.
