Last night, the music industry's "A-List" dressed up and came out to celebrate the year in music.

It was a star-studded night, with performances by Beyonce, Adele, MetallicaGA, Bruno Mars, and many more.

James Corden, of carpool karaoke fame, played host for some of the biggest names in music, and though it may have seemed a bit scripted at times, he was more than fitting for the job.

From his grand entrance fail, a bit a rapping, and a cardboard cut out car karaoke rendition of “Sweet Caroline” featuring stars like Jennifer Lopez, and the man himself Neil Diamond, Corden kept the show light, and fun despite the torrential downpour of technical difficulties.

Adele made a triumphant return to the music scene in late 2015, with her album 25. She was in the spotlight all night as she opened the show with a soul bearing performance of her smash hit “Hello”. Adele went on to pay tribute to the late George Michael with a new arrangement of the stars song “Fast Love”, a unique choice.

With a loud curse on live television, and an apologetic “I’m Sorry, I can’t mess this up for him” a nervous Adele needed to restart but came back with a firey passion that made for a striking performance.

Later on in the evening Adele cleaned house, taking the award for record of the year for “Hello” and winning the prestigious Album of the year for 25, in which she dedicated to Beyonce, bringing the music royalty to tears with her moving words.

One of the most memorable acceptance speeches of the night had to come from 21 pilots for Pop Duo/ Group of the year. Upon hearing their name, the duo dropped their pants immediately and walked up the steps to give their heartfelt speech about how they remember watching the Grammy's with friends while in their underwear and pledging to accept their first Grammy the same way they used to watch it.

Ed Sheeran took to the stage to perform his new single “Shape Of You” with nothing but him, his guitar, a keyboard and a loop pedal. Sheeran’s performance was astounding and showcased how truly talented he is, not only that but due to the simplicity of his performance he was one of the only acts that seemed to be unaffected but the audio failures other would come to experience.

Metallica and Lady Gaga hit the stage to perform the heavy metal band’s latest single “Moth Into The Flame”. Due to mic failure on James Hetfield's part, Gaga had to step up and sing the majority of the song, regularly coming back to duet with Hetfield while sharing a mic. Though the sound was off, the band sounded great and Gaga being the performer she is distracted the crowd with heavy moshing and even crowd surfing like a true metal fan.

Another fun fact about the show was when Megadeth won their first Grammy ever for their latest record, Dystopia and upon walking to the stage to accept and give thanks, the Grammy’s house band played “Master of Puppets” by Metallica. This is a big no no in the metal world, as some may know that Dave Mustaine , founder of Megadeth, was also one of the original members of Metallica, but was kicked out of the band in 1983.

A highly anticipated performance of the night was of course, Beyonce. With a 7-minute mini concert featuring everything from holograms, to powerful spoken word interludes and a very pregnant Beyonce, she of course delivered one immaculate performance.

However the performance that stole the night and even upstaged Beyonce had to of been Bruno Mars and his tribute to Prince with “Let’s Go Crazy”. Equipped with a purple sequence suit, eye-liner, and a whole lot of sex-appeal (just as Prince would have wanted it), Bruno Mars absolutely crushed the performance. From synchronized dance numbers with the band, and one face-melting guitar solo that some didn’t think Bruno was capable of, the star more than remembered Prince but seemed to have brought him back for a moment while channelling him in for the performance.

All in all, the 2017 Grammy’s were an interesting night filled with mishaps, happiness, and impressive performances.
