CBS orders Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon

Fans of the Big Bang Theory have a new CBS show to look forward to.

On Monday, the network officially announced the series order of Young Sheldon, which will premiere in the fall of 2017.

It’s a new half-hour, single camera comedy created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro.

The series will follow The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, living with his family and going to high school in East Texas.

The show will star Iain Armitage as young Sheldon Cooper, alongside Zoe Perry, Lance Barger, Raegen Revord and Montana Jordan.

The actor who plays Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons, will be involved with the new show as a narrator.

Jon Favreau will be the show’s director and executive producer for the first episode.
