Elton John is at home and resting as he recovers from a rare infection.

As reported by Variety, the illness caused John to get violently ill on his return flight from Chile to the U.K.

Once home, the 70-year-old spent two full days in the intensive care unit, but is now comfortably resting at home.

He is expected to make a full recovery, but that will sideline him for at least a month.

That means his April and May run of “The Million Dollar Piano” in Las Vegas has been cancelled.

His May 6th show in Bakersfield, California won’t go ahead as scheduled either.

John took to social media on Tuesday to thank fans for all the love and support he’s received since the news slowly started to break.

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, thanks so much to everyone for reaching out,” he said. “I’m resting well, getting stronger every day and looking forward to getting back on tour in June.”

John is set to tour the U.K. in June and has no Canadian dates on his current schedule.
