There were plenty of smiles to go around at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver on Monday.

That’s because Johnny Depp, dressed up as his most famous role, Jack Sparrow, stopped by for a long visit.

The 54-year-old actor spent more than five hours visiting with every patient, according to the hospital.

“He was wonderful with my son, Owen,” said Nicole Liske Ross on Facebook. “He gave us hugs too! He made us laugh and made everyone’s day! Thank you, thank you Johnny Depp.”

Depp, who has been known to travel with his costume from Pirates of the Caribbean for this very reason, is in town filming Richard Says Goodbye.

Filming is expected to wrap up later this month and the movie will be released on 2018.
