‘Trailer Park Boys’ actor John Dunsworth dies at 71

John Dunsworth, a Nova Scotia actor best known as the profane trailer park manager Jim Lahey, has passed away at the age of 71.

Dunsworth played Mr. Lahey on Trailer Park Boys, and is also known for his portrayal of Dave Teagues in the series Haven. 

The following statement was released by the family:

With heavy and broken hearts the family of John F. Dunsworth would like to let people know that our amazing husband, father and grandfather John Dunsworth has passed away. John left this world peacefully after a short and unexpected illness. The family would like to ask that our privacy is respected during this time of grief.

Originally from Bridgewater, N.S., he was a part in the Nova Scotia theatre and acting community for decades. 

Dunsworth's best-known character Mr. Lahey, of the hit show Trailer Park Boys, became a cult icon known for his drunken antics both in the Sunnyvale Trailer Park and on stage during his comedy tours.
