Kelowna Sports Fields and Gardens to Close

The sports fields in the City of Kelowna will begin winter maintenance as of Friday, October 31st which means they will be closed for the season.

Residents are asked to keep off the fields that have closure signs to help maintain the quality of turn for next spring. The artificial turf sports field at Mission Recreation Park will remain open, expect when covered with snow, and teams can continue to book the space.

Also closing this weekend is the Kasugai Gardens located next to City Hall. The big wooden doors will close on November 1st and will remain closed until March. The gardens were completed in 1987 to symbolize the friendship between Kelowna and Kasugai, Japan, sister cities since 1981. Throughout its open season, the tranquil gardens are enjoyed by tourists and residents.
