The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra’s annual family matinee is just a week away, set for Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Rotary Centre for the Arts.
This year, it’s a performance of Hansel and Gretel, featuring the Okanagan Children’s Choir as guest artists.
“Playful and poignant, this well-loved story is brought to life with a wonderful quartet of singers, the Okanagan Children’s Choir and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra,” said the Orchestra’s music director, Rosemary Thompson. “This is going to be a great performance for families with children aged six through 10 and we encourage the entire family to come and enjoy this performance.”
There are two performances on Saturday, one at 2 p.m. with the other at 4 p.m., and the shows are just one hour each. Tickets are $23 for adults, $19 for seniors and $14 for youth, or you can buy a family four-pack for $62. The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra is the third largest professional symphony orchestra in B.C., entertaining residents and visitors in the Okanagan with symphony music since 1960.
