It brings the total number of cases identified as part of this cluster to 203, with 43 currently active.

According to Interior Health, 126 of the total cases and 22 of the new cases were found in people who reside at Big White.

“There remains transmission among people who work and live at Big White,” explained Dr. Silvina Mema, IH’s medical health officer.

“We are testing broadly at Big White so it’s important for those living and working to seek out testing and follow public health guidance.”

IH is reminding everyone at Big White to avoid social gatherings and following public health guidelines like physical distancing, washing your hands regularly and wearing a mask.

Outreach COVID-19 testing will continue on the mountain and IH will provide its next update on the cluster on Friday.
