Big White hosting their first ever Pond Hockey Tournament

Big White hasn’t received any new snow over the last 24 hours, however there’s still lots to be excited about this weekend up at the mountain.

The resort is hosting their first annual Pond Hockey Tournament starting at 9 a.m. today. You can some down to Happy Valley and cheer on the players. The tournament will include 12 teams competing in five on five pond hockey.

If your there to hit the slopes, the brand new Powder 2.0 Chair is now open and if you get there between 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., you may get some hot chocolate, souvenir pins, and music.

As of 6:30 a.m., the alpine snow base is at 101 cm, after 24 cm of snow over the past seven days.

It’s -7C, with clear skies and moderate winds. There are 11 lifts open serving a total of 72 runs.
