Autumn officially begins on Sept. 22, but many residents in the Okanagan can already feel the season creeping in a bit early this year.

Further evidence of the changing seasons arrived this morning at Big White Ski Resort, where a light dusting of snow was discovered near the mountain's peak.

"It's the last day of our summer operations - and Mother Nature had the best way of reminding us, waking us up with snow on the Cliff this morning," Big White Ski Resort said in a Facebook post.  "Just 79 days to go until lifts start spinning for winter..."

The snow didn't stick around long, by the noon Big White's webcams showed a beautiful sunny day with temperatures close to 20 degrees.

Monday was the last day for summer operations at the resort, where they will now begin gearing up for another epic winter season.

If you're considering a season's pass, be sure to take advantage of Big White's early bird rate, which is available until Oct, 14.
