Some world class snowboarding will be on display at Big White for three days this weekend.

Taking place Friday through Sunday, the Barrels & Berms FIS Snowboardcross World Cup will battled out on the slopes of Big White this year.

It’s the first time since 2013 that a Canadian resort has hosted a Snowboardcross World Cup event.

You can expect some of the top snowboardcross athletes from around the world to be competing over the weekend.

“The event will feature both an individual World Cup and a team event World Cup,” explains the Big White website.

“As part of the Barrels & Berms event, the region’s renowned culinary and beverage culture will be showcased at festivities and parties at the resort throughout the week.”

To accommodate the event, the Telus Park SBX course is closed and will remain that way through Jan. 27.
