A photo has gone viral about the lack of housekeeping in some hotels.

A photo posted on Reddit shows a notepad piece of paper with “If you’re reading this then house-keeping did not change your sheets.”

The piece of paper was found in between the sheets at a Courtyard Marriott hotel.

Reddit commenters decided to join together and share their own horror stories. One person said they found human feces inside a trash can, another found a used condom under the bed and someone even found a vibrator inside a bed side table once.

In January TravelMath revealed the dirtiest objects inside a hotel room and that surprised a number of KelownaNow readers.

One reader said her daughter worked as a chambermaid and one of her employees said not to change the sheets when someone checked out unless they were stained. According to the reader, the employee was supposed to use a lint roller to get rid of any hair.

At a five-star hotel the dirtiest place is the remote followed by the bathroom counter. Inside four-star hotels it’s the bathroom counter followed by the desk, and at three-star hotels the dirtiest place to touch is the bathroom sink followed by the remote.

If anything, this Reddit photo has prompted a lot of people to either place their own letters in the bed before checking out, or be extremely wary of hotel room appliances.
