It’s been a couple days of blue skies, but the smoke could be on its way back in.
The Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with Interior Health, issued a smoky skies bulletin on Friday morning.
The bulletin is for most of the B.C. Interior, including the Okanagan Valley and the Thompson-Nicola region.
Smoke concentrations will vary a great amount as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change.
The public is urged to avoid any strenuous outdoor activities and it’s especially a concern for the elderly, infants and those with underlying medical conditions.
Individuals may experiences symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath.
If you do experience those symptoms, contact your health care provider as soon as possible.
