Kimberly-Clark voluntarily issues Canada-wide tampon recall

Kimberly-Clark has voluntarily issued a recall across Canada and the United States.

The recall is for its U by Kotex Sleek regular absorbency tampons due to a quality defect that could impact the product’s performance.

A small number of consumers have reported infections, vaginal irritation, localized vaginal injury and other symptoms, which has led to the voluntary recall.

Only specific lots of the tampons distributed between Oct. 17, 2016 and Oct. 23, 2018 are affected by this recall.

The product is identifiable by specific lot numbers found on the bottom of the package and you can view the lot numbers that have been recalled by clicking this link.

Anyone in possession of the impacted product should stop using it immediately and contact the Kimberly-Clark consumer service team at 1-888-255-3499 for more information.

Consumers who experience vaginal injury, vaginal irritation, urogenital infections or other symptoms like hot flashes, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting should seek immediate medical attention.
