UPDATE: Thousands more USB chargers recalled over concerns they could cause fires or shocks

(Update: March 24 @ 6 am): Health Canada has added six new USB products to its list of chargers being recalled by industry. 

The original recall was issued in February after testing showed the chargers could cause fires, burns or shocks. 

Consumers are warned to immediately stop using the above products and return them to the store from which they were purchased.

(Original story: Feb. 7 @ 6 am): Health Canada has issued a warning about tens of thousands of USB wall chargers after finding that they could cause fires, burns or shocks. 

They were found during a national compliance project. 

So far, the affected models identified are: 

Health Canada has told all consumers to immediately stop using the above products and either dispose of or return them. 

They also advised consumers to use only certified electrical products.
