Indigo’s online services are down after the chain experienced a “cybersecurity incident” on Wednesday.

A statement from Indigo, Chapters and Coles said that third-party experts are working to investigate and resolve the situation.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may create for our valuable customers,” the statement says.

When asked on Twitter whether personal information has been compromised in this incident, Indigo provided a non-answer.

“We are working with third-party experts to restore our systems and to understand if customer data has been accessed,” the company said. “We commit to keeping our customers updated as more information becomes available.”

Indigo said it hopes to have its systems back online as soon as possible, but in the meantime the incident is causing some headaches.

The company’s website is unavailable and there is no ability to process electronic payments or accept gift cards or returns.

That means it’s cash only for the time being at Indigo, Chapters and Coles stores.
